Argghhhh, mega wedding alert! So, I have known Steven (the groom) for many years back from my old job working as Marketing Manager at Ribby Hall Village, so when he asked me to photograph his wedding I was so excited as I knew it was going to be fun from beginning to end and absolutely gorgeous as he and his new wife have impeccable taste! It definitely didn’t disappoint and was absolutely amazing! The wedding ceremony was held in an open sided tipi over looking Cherry Orchard Lakes (run by Delamere Events) and then celebrations afterwards took place in a bigger tipi. It was great to work with Matthew from Worthington Films again, and we were happy as pigs in s**t as we were fed pasties for lunch and fish and chips for supper! One of the highlights for me was the band in the evening - music means a lot to me and they were awesome - scroll to the end of the blog for a full list of suppliers.

I asked Laura to give me a little insight in to their day to share with you…

How did you and Steven meet?

We actually met on my 17th birthday, we were both with other people at the time and remained friends for years before finally going on our first date at La Vina on Deansgate in November 2013.

We got engaged in October 2017, Ste was very romantic and planned a surprise weekend in Cornwall. My grandparents used to have a cottage by the sea and I spent every summer there as a child until they sold it when I was 14. I go on about it all the time and It’s now a holiday home. He only went and bloody booked it for the weekend and proposed on the patio in front of the sea ☺️

How did you find wedding planning and what advice would you give to others?

I loved every minute of wedding planning, In fact I miss doing it even now!!! Least favourite part was probably removing the odd few people who told us they couldn’t come....I got so over excited I did all my favours and table plan etc far too early lol!

Advice for couples would be, oh my god start as early as you can and end the day as late as you can because it goes so fast and you’ll just want to do it all again!!!! Also take time to take a step back and just take it all in, it’s so magical you want to embrace every second!!

What were your favourite parts of the day?

Personal highlights for me was the morning getting ready with all my closest friends and family, it was just magical. And a special moment for both of us was when we sat down for dinner and just looked out at the room, seeing all our favourite people who were there just for us. It was wonderful!!

Feedback on our wedding photos would be that they were just incredible! We didn’t pick the venue thinking about the photos really, but they’re so so stunning and you found the most beautiful spots to photograph us. We got the perfect mix of natural and stunning posed shots that we can treasure forever. It was all carried out so professionally with little distraction to our wedding party which was wonderful!!!

Special shout out to our florist Delamere Flower Farm, I loved all the eucalyptus and greenery on the day the tipi looked incredible!
