Stunning Summer Wedding at Whitworth Art Gallery, Manchester

I first met Sarah and Will at Sarah’s Sister’s Wedding at Dorfold Hall the year before, we got on instantly and I was so pleased when she got in touch and wanted me to photograph her wedding too.

Sarah and Will chose to go for a Manchester city centre wedding, and it was a scorcher of a day. I joined Sarah to photograph her getting married at the ever-so stylish King St Town House - bloody love that hotel, and I popped down the street to see Will at the Town Hall Tavern for a couple of drinks with the guys! Once they were ready we headed off to Whitworth Gallery for the wedding ceremony.

I’ve never shot a wedding at the Whitworth before and I have to say as soon as we arrived I was taken aback. The front of the building is a striking, old facade filled with Manchester history, where as the restaurant where the reception takes place is a breathtaking, modern glass structure. In the Summer months the glass reflects the greenery of the park and it is mega.

The ceremony took place in the gallery itself amongst iconic artwork and afterwards we enjoyed canapes and drinks out on the lawn. Once the light had started to dip we headed inside to the restaurant for speeches and cocktail hour - Espresso Martini anyone?

I loved this wedding so. so much, Sarah (and Will) had such a clear vision of what they wanted and it was executed with such style and elegance. Take a look at the pictures and do let me know what you think in the comments below!
